Introductory lessons regarding environmental problems

OVERVIEW

In September – October 2008, the students had lessons regarding environmental problems throughout different subjects from the school curriculum (biology, geography, technology, chemistry, arts, English). Teachers introduced the issues of environment through different themes discussed with students during biology, geography, chemistry, physics, and technology.

They talked about pollution of air and water. Students gathered information from teachers, books, newspapers, magazines, the Internet.All classes involved in the project 5A, 5C, 5D, 6A. 6B, 6C, 6E, 7B, 7C, 7E, 8A and 8C worked on these subjects. The discussions were held in Romanian with technology, geography and biology teachers. The class teachers also took part in this part of the project, organising the classes.

OBJECTIVE(s)

* to introduce the project to the students

* to raise awareness about the existing environmental problems

* to involve students in the fight against pollution
