Battery Collecting Activity for Recycling Used Batteries

OVERVIEW

Discarded batteries with its incredients threat ecology and naturel resources as like soil, water, weather and living areas. The batteries what are alkaline and and rechargeable types contain toxic metals and chemicals that damages to naturel life.

Inorder to protect our naturel life and environment, it is needed reducing releases of chemicals that pose a risk to human health and the environment. The increasing discarded of batteries could lead to the contamination of water in ecological sites and could potentially damages human life as a source of drinking water.

This activity is carried out in the school for the students would have ecological responsiblity and receiving some values.

In this activity, the students learned the the effect of discarded batteries to naturel resources and ecological areas. And this way, they started to show ecological responsiblity. They collected the used batteries from houses, environment, school and other places and put them into the special boxes which were builded in the school areas. When the recycle boxes were full, they were sent by the school administration to recyle corporations

OBJECTIVE(s)

* The aim of the using art process in this activity is that pupils have understanding of common values between art and environment.
